If you know me, then you know I love Fall! This evening, James and I took a walk after dinner and it actually felt like fall! There was a crisp breeze in the air…I almost wanted to have a light jacket on! And then I looked at the Red Maple tree in my front yard. Although this tree always looks this way, this evening it was especially eye pleasing with all of it’s fall like colors. I took all sorts of pictures during our little stroll but this is my favorite. Gets me all excited for pumpkins and mums and hay bells! :) I guess I better suck it up being that tomorrow is only the 1st of August!

Of all the ones that I took of her doing her solo, the second I saw this one, I knew it was the one! It just cracks me up. She was truly in her own little world having the time of her life!
VBS surprise soloist
Well, tonight was family night at VBS. It was funny because I was gathering things up to go and Iwas double checking to make sure I had the video camera. During this process, I laughed and said to Chris, "I don't know what the big deal is, it's not like she's doing a solo!" Well, little Haleigh apparently had her own agenda this evening. Hang in there if you watch it from the beginning. There's a bit of video that is recorded before they actually go up front. Once they are up front, you'll see Miss Haleigh. For a good while, she seems to be in her own world. And then...well, just watch and see. I laughed so hard I had tears running from my eyes.

I asked Haleigh what I should take a picture of today. She immediately said, “Blankie!!” She set up the scene for me! I’m actually glad she suggested it. I’m not sure how old Blankie will look 30 years from now so it will be nice to remember how it looked before it was too awful torn and tethered. That Blankie is such a source of comfort for her. It seems to be an instant calm the second it touches her skin. I love to watch her with it when she is drifting off to sleep. She will lay it on her belly (silky side up) and just rub it with her little fingers. If she has a boo boo, she will lay it on there to help the hurt go away. If she she is sad, she loves on Blankie. If she is happy, she loves on Blankie! God love her and God bless Blankie! :)
I also took this photo op as a time to practice with my focus. I took several pictures with my focus points to see the differences. Can you tell where I had my focus point?

Love to see these little gold finches enjoying the sunflowers outside of my house! I have been trying to get a picture of one for quite sometime but usually when I open the deck door they scurry away!

VBS
I love, love, love watching my cutie-pa-tootie at VBS. She loves singing and doing all the motions. She is just precious. Here are a couple of pics I thought I would share…

I took this picture on the stairs because I kept thinking that the light was going to be really well there from the window on the stairwell. I have been meaning to do this for a couple weeks. I really like the light there toward the evening…I may set up shop there for a couple days to see what kind of shots I can get! :) Kind of a small area to work in but, oh well!

I’m gonna have to take some really great pictures tomorrow to make up for what I didn’t do today. I only took ONE picture! I guess it is nice that this one will be included in my 365 project because this is Haleigh at her 1st day of Vacation Bible School. It was so cute because we got in the car on the way home and she said, “Mom, do you know Peter?” That was part of their Bible story. She is so cute. She had a really good time, as did I. It was a little chancy considering how late it goes but she did well. I’ll be interested to hear what other funny things she says throughout the week!

I didn’t get to take many pictures again today…both my kiddos have sore throats. Haleigh is doing great this evening but poor little buddy had a rough evening. Hoping tomorrow will be better for them. When I went out to water my garden this evening and looked up at the sky, I knew that I had the picture I wanted. I love to see the rays of sunshine coming from behind the clouds and this, to me, was the perfect shot for the day. Surprisingly, I only took 3 picture today. It makes the decision making process a lot easier. I promise not to have too many more sky pictures (since I just posted one recently) but like I said, I just love it when I see this!

Notice anything funny about this picture? Yep, that’s James’ shoe in my storage cabinet. I always crack up when I open my cabinets to see what James or Haleigh has left in there for me. I giggled tonight when I found his shoe. This is one of those things that I will miss one day so it had to be my picture of the day! :)

This Hibiscus is really special to me! I was so happy to see one actually bloom today. I have missed all of the other blooms while I have been traveling. It is the size of a dinner plate! It is special because it came out of Maw’s yard. It’s one of those flowers that I would love to keep growing for years to come. If you know Maw, you know she loves working out in the yard! Seeing this bloom made me think of her and smile. In case any of you are wondering…she is doing much better now! Still recovering but she is getting back to her normal self and keeping busy!

This guy was creepy yet very interesting! Gary found him this morning on his tomato plants. Ya’ll better hope you don’t find one of these on your crops because they are destructive!!! Tab---watch out---Chris is bringing one home for Tyler so he can watch it turn into a moth! :)

I Heart Faces Week 29 Over My Head Photo Challenge
I haven’t entered any contests from my favorite photography blog lately but after looking at some of the entries I though I would give it a shot. This theme leaves lots of room for each individuals interpretation of “over my head”. I had a couple that I wanted to use but here’s the one I decided with…Lots of bubbles over his head! Head on over to I Heart Faces to check out some of their other great entries! I’m always inspired when I go there and am certain you will be too!

Happy 80th Birthday Great Pap Pap! I am very happy to have been a part of your very special celebration. Your love is a blessing to each of us and your endless smiles always warm our hearts.

First day here in Weirton. Didn’t get the camera out until pretty late in the evening. Always enjoy taking pictures of the peaceful waterfall outside of Gary and Becky’s house.

I like this picture of Haleigh looking at a picture of me and my mom when I was little. She kept saying, “that’s not you, that’s me when I was little.” She couldn’t believe that I actually used to be little too! Then she said, “you sad that I’m getting bigger.” Ummm…YES!!! :) But it’s so fun to watch her grow!

Same bed…same little girl…couldn’t really be the same, could it?! Time sure does fly.
We are still recovering from our trip and the kids didn’t give me much opportunity to take any photos today. I managed to sneak this one in right after she fell asleep. I wanted to try to get a better angle of her face but the risk of waking her up wasn’t worth it! :) Still such a precious little face!

I was so happy to come and see that some of my sunflowers were blooming right in our backyard! Sunflowers are just gorgeous! I love how you can still see the much needed rain drops on the petals of this one!

Our last day in Chicago….one of my favorite moments of the whole trip. Watching my babies dance together outside of the hotel room. Love my family!

This picture is a reflection I saw in a fountain that we walked past. I thought it was cool how many of the buildings ended up in the shot! We had so much fun in the city!

I just loved how serious he was about coloring today. We were at Border’s for story/craft/snack and he just joined the rest of the big kids. So sweet. He had just as much fun as the rest of them…but he wasn’t allowed to get into the glitter just yet. Maybe next time! ;)
