Haleigh and I had a “make up party.” I was going for a more natural approach when I put the make up on her. I’m not sure which approach she was taking with me?! We had fun…

How does your garden grow? This is how mine is growing so far! I can’t wait to pick some more squash. The middle picture is small watermelons. That is what Chris wanted to grow this year. I’m excited to see how it will do! I love this time of year when we can go out and pick stuff out. The kids love it!

Yep, he is now sleeping with a light saber. Did I mention that he woke up at 3:00 in the morning screaming for it? To think he hasn’t even seen the actual movie yet. God help us when he does!! :)

Have you eaten here yet, my local blog readers? They have really great pulled pork! And very reasonably priced. It’s definitely worth a try if you haven’t been yet. We had it Friday night too with friends at the Battle of the Bands in downtown Lebanon.

The weather was beautiful so we went to Cox Arboretum today because I had promised the kids a picnic lunch. The kids had so much fun. I took a gazillion pictures. I just wish my kids would look at me at the same time!! Is that really too much to ask?! ;) I bought a Groupon back in December for a Canvas on Demand 16 X 20 Canvas Wrap. I had forgotten about it and then got a reminder in my email that expires on SUNDAY!! I have taken pictures everyday for almost the past year….and I don’t think I have one I want to make that large. What do you think?! Of all the pictures I have forced you to look at over the past year, do you think I have one that would be good enough for a 16 X 20 to hang in my living room?! I need your help!!!
This one make me laugh. They got such a hoot out of following these ducks.
I don’t know what was so funny in this picture.
Couldn’t get any better for them…throwing rocks in a creek…

Once again, my child has something strange on his head. Why do my children like to amuse themselves this way? He was cracking up with Haleigh’s lunch box on his head!

The cousins…giving high fives and hugging. Aren’t they sweet!?! The three of them together crack me up! Lots of energy around here…

Happy Father’s Day Chris! The most wonderful daddy in the world. He adores his children and his love for them knows no end. I love that about him. I know that he will be a solid and consistent part of our children’s lives for always. Never will they have to question his love for them and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you, Chris for being such a wonderful dad.
This is the picture that Haleigh drew for him to hang in his office. She did one last year too. It’s funny how much her family portrait has changed in one year.
From right to left, Mommy, Haleigh, Chris, James. On the ground is shadow (black) and Snowball (yellow). that is also her plum tree (?) and in the sky is her cyclops sun! I love pictures like this. So sweet. It’s fun to watch her add details. When she was drawing Chris she said, “those are the spikes in his hair so he looks like a boy.”

6:25 AM—phone rings—I wonder who in the world is calling me so early?! Oh…it was my dear friend Michelle!! Baby on the way!! Hooray! I went and picked up her kiddos, Brooke and Braydon, so she could go on to the hospital. Colton showed up a little after 8. One shy of half a dozen kiddos to watch after…had to run it like a classroom! ;) They were so fun. We made Kool-Aid playdough and I swear they played with it for an hour. They all did so good and I was thrilled that I was able to help the Crockett’s out. I was even more thrilled to hear my phone ring at 5:00 to announce the arrival of Braxton Michael Crockett. Congratulations to them. They have a beautiful family.

The kids were busy working on their Father’s Day presents. I took Haleigh to Hobby Lobby to pick something out b/c she wanted to make him a special craft. After many choices, she finally decided on painting on a small canvas. They had a lot of fun! James’s was looking really neat and then he picked up the brown paint when I was helping Haleigh. Splat---big brown dollop of brown to swirl around into everything he had put on. But it still turned out cute. Haleigh painted a “breaking palm tree” I have no idea what this means but she was so very proud of it. You an see it in the picture. They were both very excited about what they had done. When they carried them into Chris they both said, “tada!!”

And here she is…getting ready to head out of ICU. Had to have the hair looking good! Mind you she has a 6 inch slice along the most tender part of one’s neck. My neck hurts just thinking about it. The look on my mom’s face makes me laugh. The second they gave her the go ahead to get her clothes back on she shot out of the bed like a bullet! She was ready to get home and on the road to recovery!
And then there they are waving bye. I miss them. I loved being close to them. I wish they would move to Ohio! So glad that Maw’s surgery was successful and that she is healing well. God is good.
So I am alone in the car again, driving to pick up the kids and I decide to stop at the overlook at the bridge. Sometimes I miss this mountains---this is why! They are so gorgeous.
I was thrilled to see the kids. Although I enjoyed my time away from them, I missed them every minute! They love the pond at Becky and Gary’s. Throwing rocks is so much fun. Loads of thanks to Becky and Gary for watching them so I could be with Grandma and Mom. I know the kids had a wonderful time.
We stopped for lunch—or ice cream---on the way home. The kids were certain to point out the turkey buzzards…
And proof that their trip to Grammy and Pap Pap’s was so much fun they were exhausted---they BOTH slept in the car.
Came home to get crackin’ on this VBS set with Chris. Chris is so awesome to get “suckered” in to projects like this! He is so good Since we share it with another church, I got to help them set up so i could see---it looks awesome. i didn’t post all the pic/details but I will when we get the set in our church. Thanks, Chris for being so supportive and willing to take on such tasks.
Lovin’ on my little buddy!
Did I mention how awesome my hubby is? He was on a cleaning spree/organizing spree while I was out. He surprised me by cleaning several things that was on my “to do” list but never seem to get done. Our closet looks so great and the cleaning he did was so nice! Thanks sweetie!!

Nothing great about this above picture. There was actually another bird on the other side and they seemed to be playing “peek a boo.” For whatever reason it had me amused so I snapped a pic. This birdhouse is at my mom’s place. This was the evening that I go to her house after dropping the kids off with Gary and Becky. It was so weird to be in the car with JUST ME! I hardly know what that is like. I drove 45 minutes before I realized that i could turn the radio on. LOL!
Mom and I sat on the deck and grilled hamburgers. It was so strange to be without the kids but it was nice. Nice to be with just her for a change. Although I’m sure all we talked about was Haleigh and James! ;)
This is us on the morning we picked up Maw to take her to Charleston for her surgery! Doesn’t she just look great?!

Wow. So behind. Sorry. I’m going to a couple of lump posts of pictures to catch up. I got behind when I traveled to WV. I didn’t even use my laptop when I was home. Then I got back to Ohio and just have been busy doing this and that. The more I get behind, the harder it gets for me to sit down and catch up. But here I am, getting back on track. Hoping their smiles bring you lots of smiles!! :)
This is Haleigh wearing my garter from my wedding. She thought it was so beautiful because of the fluff on it. She said, “I can’t wait to wear this when I marry daddy.”
This is James dancing like Haleigh downstairs. He is truly a “monkey see, monkey do.”
Haleigh loves this “contraption” on her girlfriend’s swing set. I don’t know what it is actually called but it is a lot of fun. The second picture was what happened when a piƱata burs open at a 5 years old birthday party---mass chaos!! ;)
