And fall begins…

Don’t you just love fall?  The cool crisp air, the apples, the mums, the pumpkins, the smell of chili simmering on the stove??!!  Can you tell it’s my favorite time of year? I love everything about fall and I especially love watching the transformation of the trees as they begin to show their autumn colors!

Today we popped over to Iron’s fruit farm to get some fresh apples.  So, of course, we had to feed the goats, play on the farm, and eat a cider donut!  Fall is not complete without a cider donut and fresh apples (with none of that nasty wax and pesticides on it!) from the farm.  There are several other farms we plan on hitting this season and I can’t wait.

The kids had a blast just running around.  I sit back and watch them find the joy in the simplest things.  I love that about my children and all children for that matter.  Shouldn’t we all take their example?  Find the joy in the little things?  To be 4 or 2 again where life is full of no worries, and feeding goats make you giggle until you can’t breathe, and tire swings make you grin from ear to ear, and eating a cider donut means you have sugar and cinnamon from your mouth to your ears and it doesn’t make a difference!?  I love their joy.  I thank God for that today.

Don’t they make these apples look delicious?!

Ok, this next sequence of pictures just makes me laugh.  At first, I thought they just looked cute running towards each other.  And then, Haleigh started dancing and I just started snapping.  I’m wondering where she got these moves.  James was trying to keep up with her but he finally gave up.  LOL.

Oktoberfest

Another year down and another shot of the bros by the chiquita banana sign.  I need to go back and look at last year’s post from Oktoberfest to see how much everyone has changed!

We all had a great time.  The weather was perfect! Haleigh and James loved riding the rides.  Except for the one that takes you up and drops you…James would have no part of it but as you can see, Haleigh loved it!  Just like last year.

Thomas…finally!!

Every day when we go to church or school or Kroger and we have to cross the train track I immediately hear, “ride the train, ride the train?”

Well, after many answers of “not this time, honey,” we finally took James to ride the train.  Thomas was in town so it couldn’t have been a more fitting time for him to go.  He loved it! The smile on his face was worth every penny!!

James just waved from a distance at Sir Topham Hat.

Love those eyes in this picture.

This is Haleigh’s riding hat she likes to wear now…you know, because we are always out riding horses…hehe!  She loves it and I guess that’s all that matter.   _MG_2895

This is Braxton that Haleigh finally got to hold.  She has been waiting a long time to hold him.  She sang to him while she held him.  It was so sweet.  Nice that we can all get our baby fix…thanks Michelle! ;)

quite the poses…

I don’t know why but I love this picture of James with Haleigh’s fishing pole.  He just looks like he’s in his own little world…dreaming of maybe fishing in a real pond with real fish and with a fishing pole that’s not purple and pink?! Just my thoughts.

And Haleigh was working some poses for the camera.  She was saying “work it, work it.”  Goofy! :) So James had to get in on the action too.
