At our Halloween get together on Sunday, the kids painted little Halloween trinkets with pretty fall colors and lots of glitter.  Today we did a "reversed trick or treat" at the Otterbein for some the residents in the assisted living area and handed out these ornaments. My heart was so warmed by the compassion my kids (and the other kids) showed toward the residents there.  I was a little uncertain how they would do but they great.  Haleigh was so excited to give the residents a Halloween ornament.  She talked to them, danced to them, and smiled at them.  The joy the residents showed when the kids came in the room was priceless.  They were clearly very thrilled to have these cute little ones and their sweet, young spirits prancing around.
It was honestly a very touching time for me.  I cried...but they were good tears.  I can't wait to go back and do it again.  Time well spent.  As you can see in the pictures, Jamesy liked the little bird that they had.
