Make a Wish Gala

The MAW Gala was a great success.  Lots of money was raised via silent  and live auctions to help support wish granting to children with life threatening medical conditions.  It was so nice to be able to attend an event that supports such a great cause.  There was certainly lots of fun had  but at the same time it was an emotional and eye opening experience.  I took several things from the event:

1.  Love your children—profoundly and deeply.  Hug them, kiss them, again and again.

2. Be thankful for good health and happiness.

3.  Life is about so much more than receiving…it is far better to give than to receive.  I want my life to be one that is encircled and driven with this thought.

4.  I am truly amazed at the strength of some people.  I honestly don’t know how I would handle one of my children being diagnosed with a condition that would threaten their life in any way.  But I see parents amidst this situation and they remain grounded in strength, hope, and love.  I admire and I am in awe of that.

5.  Sometimes it is easy to live in a bubble and think that nothing could happen to me or my family…that we are healthy and everything will always be that way.  But the reality is, it could change at any given second.  Life should be cherished…every second…every day.  Love your family, have a thankful heart, hold onto faith, stay rooted in hope, find ways to give…

6. To all those involved, including my MIL, you did a great job with the Gala and all of your other efforts throughout the year! Your hard work and dedication help us remember that the world really is good!

7.  Support your local MAW!!!  Help the beautiful children and their families believe in the power of a dream!!  You can click on the link to find your local chapter or other ways you can help!
